Monday

4 November – Sponsored by Boise South Stake

Regional Singles Thanksgiving Dinner

6:00 – 8:00 pm

3200 Cassia, between Shoshone and Owyhee

Take the Vista Exit north (airport exit) to Cassia St. The last light will be at Kootenai. Cassia is about half way to the next light. Turn left (west) on Cassia. It is across from South Jr. High School.

Second Annual Regional Singles Thanksgiving Dinner.

Turkey and gravy as well as all the paper/plastic products for the meal will be provided.

Other foods will be pot luck. Please bring one of the following or anything else your little heart desires (LDS standard):

·         Red Jello salad with fruit in it. [Feeling rebellious, bring a green or orange Jello salad instead.]

·         1 green bean casserole with onion rings. [If you are more in the mood for scalloped corn or oysters, you know what to do, or if you prefer corn, carrots, peas, broccoli… bring your favorite cooked vegetable or raw veggie sticks and dip… just bring something that calls itself a vegetable.]

·         Mashed potatoes to feed a bunch of people.

·         1 dozen deviled eggs.

·         Dressing ( a.k.a. stuffing, but as we will have the turkeys you won’t be able to actually stuff them.)

For those (not just  guys) who don’t cook or don’t have time to cook, here are some easy items we also really need:

·         2 dozen rolls (pre-cooked and ready to serve)

·         1 pound of butter or 1 tub of margarine.

·         1 large container of whipped cream (tub or aerosol can).

·         1 large jar of pickles, olives or pickled vegetable (asparagus, beets, carrots, etc.)

·         1 ‘store-bought’ pie (not just pumpkin - any pie you like will do)

·         Large bag of salad greens. (We have huge bowls to mix the various bags of greens you bring, so greens in the bag is what we need.)

·         1 bottle of salad dressing.

If you have a favorite Thanksgiving recipe and want to make and share, you are more than welcome to do so.

This is an event to usher in the holiday season which can be very stressful for those without families or with broken families. Come fill your tummy and feel the Savior’s love. Last year was a good, well-attended event. This year, we hope to over-flow the gym and have people eating on the stage.

There will be a short program while you are enjoying the dinner, but most of the time will be available to socialize. Please join us.
